Orsay House, Bed and Breakfast, is situated in the idyllic village of Portnahaven, on the beautiful Isle of Islay.

 

 

  Portnahaven is a beautiful, quiet fishing village situated on the south west of the Rhinns of Islay, looking over the Atlantic, where on a clear day, you can clearly see the coast of Northern Ireland. The village wraps around a sheltered harbour and sandy bay where grey seals bask on the rocks and frolic in the water.    Children have endless hours of fun, swimming, canoeing, building sand castles and friendships.  There are a few commercial fishing vessels that work from the harbour and they bring fresh Lobster and Crab ashore.
 Portnahaven is an ideal location to spot an abundant wildlife such as Dolphins, Basking Sharks, Deer,Otters,CornCrakes, Eagles and a variety of many more species. Orsay Island opposite the village has the Rhinns of Islay Lighthouse, which was built by the Stevensons in 1825.   Within the village there is a well stocked Post Office and general store, A Coffee & Craft Shop and the local pub, An Tigh Seinnse, which serves good food and whisky from the eight distilleries on the island. Port Charlotte is approx 15 mins and Bowmore (main shopping area) is 30mins away by car. 
   Orsay House is situated in Queen Street with a garden to the front stretching down to the rocks and sea.   There is a deck area where the uninterupted  spectacular  views can be enjoyed by guests. There is 1  Superking bedroom ensuite (£80 per night), 1 Double bedroom & 1 Twin room (£60 per night) with sharing bathroom available. There is off street parking available for guests. A large rear garden can be enjoyed by guests, with a pergola seating/bbq area and a comfortable seating area at the top of the garden,commanding superb views across the village and beyond.
